Restaurants
Arguably Moscow can now offer the best restaurants in Europe, they are certainly the most expensive, and therefore keeping track of them all becomes very difficult.

Turandot

Located on Tverskoy Boulevard, right next door to Cafe Pushkin, and under the same owner, Turandot is reputed to have cost in excess of $50 million to construct over a 6 year period. What has arisen from a non descript building is a recreation of a Baroque Palace. Hand painted landscapes on the walls, waiters in period costume, a bewigged quartet playing in the centre, endless private dining rooms, an amazing wine list and truly delicious food that is a fusion of all things Asian. And now the bad news – take a deep breath when the bill arrives - the service charge alone is the price of an average dinner.
Godunov

GODUNOV is a genuine Russian restaurant located in the 17th century meal chambers opposite the Bolshoy Theatre. An ideal place for Russian cuisine lovers. By all means, take your overseas guests to GODUNOV – they will be delighted! Every night favorite Russian songs or gipsy romances. Inexpressible vodka mood! Medovuha and speciality strong liqueurs from Chef Sergey Eroshenko.
Literary club

Here is undoubtedly the best interior in Moscow ! The building of the restaurant “Central House of Writers” is fascinating from the point of view of architecture and long history. It is located in the quite center (15 minutes drive from Metropol hotel) at Povarskaya Street which became popular residence for mostly the nobility. A well-known CDL restaurant has been recently re-opened after complete reconstruction and renovation to welcome visitors. The exquisite interior of a one-time meeting place of Moscow Freemasons, with its warm fireplace, glorious heraldry and antique balustrades creates the atmosphere of an old house of Russian nobility, where one can become familiar with remarkable Russian cuisine and taste such dishes as Veal “Orloff” Quail”Golotsiya”, Salmon “Tzar Nikholas II”, Patties “Suzdal”, Rabbit “Stroganoff” and traditional Russian kvas with horse-radish, as well as many other unique and delicious dishes.
Kitezh

Have a farewell dinner in “Kitezh” restaurant, housed on the ground floor of an old-style building next to Petrovsky monastery. The XVII century-stylised interiors, wooden furniture, quiet music make a unique and stylish atmosphere. Traditional Russian food is served at the restaurant.

Bright stained-glass windows, a selection of authentic musical instruments Two V.I.P.- rooms.
Na melnitse

True merchant cuisine is, certainly, old Russian recipes and home ease, nourishment and abundance, aspic and mushrooms, sbiten and nastoykas (strong liqueurs). But rich Moscow merchants also liked to have feasts at magnificent restaurants, they were connoisseurs of different overseas delicacies. So, "folly-jolly" and other exotic dishes were to no surprise. Traditions of the true merchant feast are covered with legends. Among them is a legend about the Khludov dynasty. This glorious merchant family is famous not only for their millions, but also for their "tricks": they had a tame tiger, and they opened such a merchant club at a mill, that all Moscow "millionaires" gathered here to have feasts. Five years ago the merchant club "At the Mill" revived in the capital in Sadovo-Spasskaya Street. And it was such a success, that now the club is becoming a network.
O’ Mar

A cozy enveloping place with warm tones of being light. White sofas in discreet niches hardly noticeable behind half see-through curtains. Quiet noise of voices behind a background of salon jazz. The shine of old mirrors which reflect on the silhouettes of the world around it. Soft movements of waiters that serve ragout of fresh lobster and mushrooms flambe with cognac at your table. It almost seems like the door are going to be blown open and the salty sea air and evening cool will fill the room. But behind the door there is not a warm southern sea but Moscow - the old part of the building that in the 15th century belonged to monastery. It offers superb European cuisine. Refined interior designed in ‘art deco', exquisite atmosphere, nice live music and impeccable service ensures the atmosphere of a romantic evening. Wide choice of cigars.
Krasny bar

Cuisine: authors, Japanese, European You'd better order a table in "Krasny bar" beforehand. And the matter is not only in the charm of Moscow by night, jazz, unique details of the interior and a special style of life. The menu deserves special attention - the talented chef expressed his East view to European cuisine in the author's dishes. Wines are also treated carefully - they are kept in the necessary humidity and temperature. The main objective of such a place is to emphasize the status and the way of living, respectability, comfort and a delicate taste.

GlavPivTorg

If you know 60-s only by hearsay, and your childhood fell on happy 70-s, you won’t probably pass by “Glavpivtorg” restaurant on Bolshaya Lubianka. The very signboard decorating entry to former ministry building already arouses nostalgic memories and episodes of the best Soviet films. Inner atmosphere renders past epoch thoroughly. Sincere nostalgy with hint of irony penetrates high “ministry” ceiling; optimistic stained-glass picturing well-nourished workers, collective farmers and pioneers; slogan demanding “to fill jars up after beer-head falling”... Having settled yourselves comfortably at one of corpulent office desks under a green lampshade, you will have chance of clicking desk calendar, having a good look at “Granny’s” radio set in the corner, and other silent witnesses of your parents’ youth. n the evenings “Conference hall” is filled with lively sounds of 60-s hits. Cabins of long balcony and private “Library” are more quiet. As for “Director’s room” (banquet hall), its windows face picturesque view of Lubianskaya square.
