The most beautiful season has come to Saint Petersburg - "White Nights". What could be more romantic than walking along rivers and canals when night is as bright as day? It is the world's only metropolis where such a phenomenon takes place every summer. Every year there are days when the downtown St Petersburg is full of people, even at night.

We invite you have a memorable experience visiting this wonderful city!

Sincerely,

St Petersburg Mosaics

The iconic sculpture of Samson in Peterhoff pulling open the jaws of a lion that crowns the central cascade of fountains returned to its pedestal in May after restoration. Earlier this year the symbol of Peterhof had left its historical home for the first time since 1947. Restoration experts painted the sculpture with a double layer of gold leaf, using about a kilogram of gold. Samson is now expected to be able to do without restoration work for at least 12 years. The sculpture of Samson was first made in 1735, in honor of the 25th anniversary of the Battle of Poltava that took place on the day of Saint Sampson.

On the 18th of June the festival "Sensation White" comes to the city again and will take place in St.-Petersburg with the new show "Celebrate Life" - show, where for the first time the guests will become active participants of the celebration. Life is the party! Celebrate each moment of your life!

"Scarlet Sails" (school graduates festival) is unique to St. Petersburg. The celebration takes place during the most romantic period of White Nights and culminates with a 30-minute light and firework show and multimedia presentation on the Neva River with the advent of Old Brigantine sailing under Scarlet Sails.
Location/time : Palace Square, Neva River on June 18

The State Hermitage museum and The Henry Moore Foundation present Blits and Blockade: Henry Moore at the Hermitage.
The exhibition coincides with the 70th anniversary of the ending of the Blitz and the 70th anniversary of the beginning of the Siege of Leningrad (during the WWII) and runs until 28 August. The use of the Hermitage basements as shelters during the Siege adds an unusual poignancy to the display. As well as five galleries of Moore drawings, one room is dedicated to the drawings of Soviet architect Alexander Nikolsky. They record images of people sheltering in the basement during the bombardment. The exhibition includes a wide range of Moore's compositions from both the First and Second Shelter Sketchbooks, interspersed with related enlarged drawings, and six sculptures. Outside will be three monumental works Large Four Piece Reclining Figure (1972-1973), Draped Reclining Mother and Baby (1983), Reclining Figure: Hand (1979).

The exhibition is generously supported by the Hermitage Foundation UK and it forms part of the "Hermitage 20/21" project, an ambitious program aimed at showcasing the best of contemporary art in the Hermitage and expanding the display of 20th century art.
