Moscow cultural events

"Spasskay tower" International Military Music Festival will take place for the 4th time in Moscow on Red Square August 31 - September 4, 2011.
More than 40 military bands from 15 countries will take part in the event. Among them are Austria, Canada, China, Denmark, New Zealand, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Jordan and many other.
Mexican delgation is expected this year for the first time.

Military marches are being played here side by side with classical music and Beatles hits. The organic combination of military, classical, folk and popular music, march of military bands and dance shows, demonstration of weapon skills and laser and pyrotechnic effects makes the Festival one of the most impressive and cosiderable events of the year.

The Medici Treasury collection is held in Kremlin till August 1, 2011. This is part of cross-cultural collaborative program which marks the Year of Italian Language and Culture in Russia. Over 100 unique masterpieces of the XVth-XVIIth centuries are on display: exhibits from the famous Medicio Treasury of the Silver Museum in the Palazzo putti, the Uffizi Gallery and from collections of other Floretnine museums.

Pushkin museum of Fine arts represents "Inspiration Dior" exhibition and continues the tradition of holding one painting exhibition - this time it is Sandro Botticelli "Pallas and the Centaur" from the Uffizi gallery, Florence. Both are available for visit in July.

The Treatykov gallery (new buidling on Krymsky val) offers the exhibition "Holy Russia" till August 14. The exhibition, opened on the initiative of Dmitry Medvedev, is unique both in terms of its scale and significance. It show 450 works of Russian art, dating from the 10th to 19th centuries from 25 local museums, libraries and archives, as well as unique exhibit from the collection of the Louvre - shoulder decoration (armilla) which as historians believe, was part of ceremonial dress of Price Andrei Bogoliubski (12th century).
