Grand Hotel Europe The most luxurious hotel in St Petersburg is now Orient Express Group and is one of the “Leading Hotels of the World”. Located on the city’s main thoroughfare Nevsky Prospect, and next to the Russian Museum, the hotel combines the charm of an imperial, pre-Revolutionary Russia with all the modern facilities of a 5 star hotel. Astoria Originally opened in 1912, this historic hotel is ideally located in the center of the city overlooking the famous St. Isaac’s Cathedral. The hotel has 232 rooms including 41 suites.The hotel possesses fine facilities for conference and banqueting including gorgeous Winter Garden and ballroom for 350 people. Corinthia Nevsky Palace Originated several years ago the Nevsky Palace was only recently taken over by International Holiday Investment. This is a fine 5 star hotel on Nevsky Prospect. The hotel has 283 rooms and suites. Grand Hotel Emerald Very new hotel opened in October 2003 is located in the city centre, five minutes walk fron Nevsky prospect. Taleon Residence For the first time in St Petersburg it is now possible to rent your own palace. This building on Kutuzova embankement was a former Sheremetev Palace which, in Soviet times became the House of Artists. Thanks to a fortuitous fire, the building was sold and after 2 years restoration it has been put back to its original glory – and glory it is. Fully staffed, there are seven bedrooms of huge proportions together with sitting rooms, dining rooms, library and ball room. In the second half of the 19th century the hotel was reconstructed. After the revolution the building was given to Administration of Railway. Only in 1030 the hotel was opened again.
