UEFA games, Mariinsky "Starts of White Nights" festival, XVth International "Music collection" festival in Philarmony Great Hall. The cultural life in the city is almost back to the pre-pandemic level.

Mariinsky theatre The famous Mariinsky theatre festival "Stars of White Nights" is held May 27- July18, 2021. Placido Domingo, Diana Vishneva, Anna Netrebko and many other great artists will take part in 160 performances held on Historic Stage, in Mariinsky II and Concert Hall. The works of Wagner, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Maler will be performed.
Catherine palace in Peterhoff Catherine palace in Peterhoff opened its doors after 2 year freconstruction. This is the biggest palace in Lower park of the complex. The palace has impressive collection of decorative and applied art and paintings of late 18th-early 19th centuries. The collection of porcelain statuettes "People of Russia" has been enriched. These statuettes were designed by Imperial Porcelain factory for the Russian Emperors from Catherine the Great to Nickolas II.

Day of DostoyevskyDay of Dostoyevsky will be held in July - devoted to 200th birth anniversary of the great writer. Different open-air performances, costumed excursions, lectures, exhibitions will be held within the festival's framework. Many museums, theatres, libraries will traditionally take part in the event.

Cucumber Day in Suzdal

Cucumber Day in Suzdal Suzdal originated in the Xth century and one of the most beautiful towns in Golden Ring (comprising medieval towns 200-300 km from Moscow) has a number of interesting traditions and festivals.

One of the most popular - Day of a Cucumber - is usually celebrated in July when the first crop of this well-known vegetable is collected. One can see numerous types of cucumbers cultivated by citizens, agrofarms and offered to the customers in different cooking ways - salted, marinated, fried, boiled and even in pies and jams. One can taste all this at specially arranged market.

The town changes during the day - there are a lot of open-air festivities - concerts where songs and poems in the honour of Cucumber are performed. Posters dedicated the to image of the "main hero" are in the streets and squares. The guests of the town are also entertained by folk dances and songs and all are welcome to join the festival.
