Itineray in brief

Day 1.
• 06:15: Departure from St. Petersburg for Sortavala by train Lastochka.
• 10:20: Arrival at Sortavala. Meeting with the guide.
• 10:40: Departure for Ruskeala Mountain Park by Ruskeala-Express Retro train. This is the only daily steam-powered passenger train left in Russia, which runs with a locomotive built in 1949.
• 11:40: Guided tour of the Ruskeala Mountain Park. The gem of the park is a marble canyon, which is a natural and an industrial sight. Ruskeala marble was mined for decorations of the St. Petersburg palaces and cathedrals. Today massive walls of grey and white color and emerald waters of the flooded centre of the canyon make it one the most visited sights in Karelia. Lunch.
• 15:00: Transfer to Kinerma Village. Kinerma is an ancient Karelian village situated 100 km from Petrozavodsk. The whole territory of the village is considered to be a monument of the Russian wooden architecture. In 2016 Kinerma entered the list of the most beautiful villages in Russia.
• 17:00: Excursion around the village. Afterwards dinner with traditional dishes.
• 20:30: Arrival in Petrozavodsk. Accommodation. Night in Petrozavodsk.

Day 2.
• Morning: Breakfast.
• 9:00: Meeting with the guide in Petrozavodsk. Transfer to the husky farm (80 km from Petrozavodsk).
• 10:00: Upon arrival the musher will acquaint you with the history of the husky breed and safety measures. Afterwards you will see, how the dogs are harnessed. If you feel like joining this process, you are welcome to help the musher. After the sledges are ready and the dogs are harnessed, begins a true adventure. Joyful huskies’ bark will break the silence of the sleeping Karelian forest and color it with vivid emotions. Today you will enjoy a 30-km ride in the winter forest in the Kivach Nature Reserve.
During our trip we will make a stop to get acquainted with the second highest waterfall in Europe, which is waterfall Kivach.
Upon arrival back to the husky farm lunch with dishes of Karelian cuisine. Afterwards you will get acquianted with reindeer and feed them their favourite snack, lichen. Transfer to Medvezhyegorsk. Accommodation in twin rooms of Malaya Medvzhka Tourist complex.
Free time and dinner.

Day 3.
• Morning: Breakfast.
Transfer to Velikaya Guba (100km).
• 11:00: Transfer to Kizhi Island by hovercraft (30 min).
• 11:30: Excursion in the Kizhi Open-Air Museum of wooden architecture.
• 13:30: Transfer to Velikaya Guba by hovercraft (30 min). Lunch upon arrival.
• 15:30: Transfer back to Petrozavodsk (270 km).
• 19:30: Dinner in Petrozavodsk and transfer to the railway station.
